The fourth-generation university is one that aims to achieve educational, research, and entrepreneurial goals with attention to social and regional responsibilities. This new definition aligns with sustainable development objectives as well as the relationship between industry and academia. In this roundtable, we will examine the university structure, the educational system and academic course structure, the role of companies in this ecosystem, and student engagement. We will ask questions from both sides of the story, trying to reach a correct and common understanding of the current conditions of this relationship and identify its strengths and weaknesses.
